The LATIS application has been developed as a simple data maintenance and interrogation solution for our Local Authority clients who manage Land Terriers. Using Microsoft Access and MapInfo Professional, it allows for the input, management and viewing of acquisitions, disposals and appropriation data as held in the Land Terrier.
With the pressure on to digitise Land Terrier information into a GIS, many Local Authorities are finding that the subsequent maintenance of this data can be troublesome. In addition, interrogation is not always as straightforward as it could be.
LATIS solves administration problems by sorting the data by acquisition reference number. All the subsequent transactions are linked to this original reference, making tracing the history of a land parcel very easy.
The address fields within the system are BS7666 compliant, so LATIS data is compatible with other address databases within the Authority.
This flexible system allows the user to locate a parcel of land and trace site history in a number of ways:
Queries about a sites history can be solved in minutes and user configurable reports can be generated. There is also an area for recording details about granted rights of way / access. The system can be used for data input, ensuring that all the relevant details about a land parcel are captured in the correct place, to maintain the accuracy of interrogation.
In association with this, CDRs Project Team can offer bulk data capture services or even a managed maintenance scheme. Our Quality Assurance procedures comply with ISO 9002 to ensure high standards of data acquisition. See out Data Capture page for more information, or contact us for advice or further information.
