It contains almost half a billion features from the built and natural
landscape of Britain.
Detailed and surveyed to a high degree of accuracy, the Topography
Layer is continually revised to incorporate changes to the urban
and rural environment. It consists of nine themes: land area classifications;

Code-Point®
Code-Point® provides a precise geographical location for each postcode
unit in the United Kingdom. There are approximately 1.7 million
postcode units in England, Scotland and Wales, with Northern Ireland's
BT postal area accounting for approximately 46 900 postcodes. Each
postcode unit, such as KY12 8UP or PO14 2RS, contains an average
of fifteen adjoining addresses.
Features and benefits
An economical planning or marketing tool for users not requiring
individual addresses.
Includes National Health Service and local government area codes
down to ward level.
Includes number of delivery addresses for domestic and non-domestic
per postcode
Geographical location for Code-Point is taken from Ordnance
Survey's Addressing data.
Code-Point® with Polygons are produced by tessellating individual
address records from ADDRESS-POINT®, they are then nested within
the sector boundaries prescribed by Royal Mail®. Code-Point® polygons enclose every fully matched address in the correct boundary
and are significantly more accurate than previous products of this
type.
Features and benefits
A boundary clearly showing the extent of each postcode unit,
enabling non-addressable data to be analysed on a postcode basis.
Allows results to be related to local authority and National
Health areas.
Includes Vertical Streets (VA), that identify more than one
postcode in a single building, for example a block of flats.
Ordnance Survey's 1:25 000 Scale Colour Raster is backdrop map
data of the popular OS Explorer Map series for outdoor activities.
Access areas as defined by the Countryside Agency under the Countryside
Rights of Way Act 2000 have been depicted on 1:25 000 Scale Colour
Raster since 2004. With the fence-level detail and depiction of
contours this makes the product particularly useful for analysing
data in rural areas.
Each tile covers 10 x 10 km.
Ordnance Survey's definitive raster product, providing a complete
digital view of the popular Landranger® paper map series. It
comprises 815 tiles, each 20 km by 20 km, and offers clear detail
on roads, footpaths, woods, water features, important buildings
and height contours. All topographic features are joined across
sheet edges, providing seamless coverage of the entire country.
It provides a comprehensive map base ideal for detailed work where
street names are not required, such as demographic analysis.
OS VectorMap® Local is a national vector dataset supplied in Geography
Markup Language (GML). It has been derived from OS Landplan data
and has been generalised to view between scales of 1:3000 to 1:20,000.
OS VectorMap® Local is the first Ordnance Survey product that provides
contextual data enabling businesses to add their own content and
display for backdrop mapping.
The features are supplied as points, lines, polygons and text, and
the data has around 130 different types of feature code.
The data is a vector product supplied in GML format.
Supplied as points, lines, polygons and text.
Off-the-shelf standard map styles enable the user to create
bespoke content in a GIS.
You can tailor your mapping to support users with colour vision
deficiencies.
Buildings, and important buildings.

overlaps or joins.
GB single user licence price £37,500
Points
of Interest
Points of Interest is a
dataset of around 3.9 million geographic and commercial features
across Great Britain - all highlighting location and function information,
and with a postal address for all postally addressable Points.
Points of Interest has a highly developed three-level classification
system to help you identify the features you are interested in.
And this might be anything from accommodation (for a business traveller
or tourist) through landscape features (for planning uses or the
emergency services) to transport links (from rail and air to bus
and tram users).
Each Points of Interest feature is provided with a national grid
coordinate so it can be visualised as a point on a digital mapping
system. When Points of Interest is combined with mapping, it becomes
a powerful component in a modern, detailed location-based application.
The Points of Interest dataset contains over 600 different types
of feature structured within a three tiered classification system
that provides a flexible means of identifying and ordering just
the data that you are interested in.
The dataset is provided in a common 'text' file format which
is easy to store in spreadsheets, databases and GIS.
The product is regularly updated with new information and these
updates are provided to you under the terms of your license.
Priced per point ranging from £0.25 to £0.01696

AddressBase®
AddressBase® is an Ordnance Survey addressing product that helps you with address related data work, from determining the functional use of a property to placing address information in a geographic context (on a map.)
AddressBase contains Royal Mail PAF addresses, both commercial and residential where they have been matched to the local authority Unique Property Reference Number (UPRN). This allows you to link additional information about a property to a single address and locate it on a map.
GB single user licence price £16,245 available as defined areas
AddressBase® Plus
AddressBase® Plus merges two address datasets together (PAF and Local Authority) to provide the best available view of addresses currently defined by Local Authorities, giving many advantages over AddressBase.
In addition, all Local Authority addresses that are deemed as a current location (but have not been matched to PAF) are included.
AddressBase® Premium provides the most comprehensive view of the world of addresses and properties at all stages of a property and address lifecycle – from planning permission to historic addresses.
It includes PAF and Local Authority addresses, as well as:
Addresses at different stages of lifecycle – allowing knowledge of addresses at various stages of development, and
Alternative address details – allowing vanity address data to be used in applications.
AddressBase® data is brought together by GeoPlace, a joint venture between Ordnance Survey and the Local Government Association, within the National Address Gazetteer infrastructure.
The AddressBase® product family combines the best elements of addressing products from three leading address data providers - Local government, Ordnance Survey and the Royal Mail.
AddressBase takes the most valuable elements from local government’s National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG), Ordnance Survey’s OS MasterMap Address Layer 2, the Royal Mail Postcode Address File (PAF), and The Valuation Office Agency.
